VSFA Committees
 
The Association President appoints committees to carry out missions of importance on behalf of the Association.  Any member who is interested in serving on a committee or has an idea for a new project may get involved by contacting a Committee Chair or the President of the Association.

Awards Committee
To prepare an annual program of awards in accordance with the Association Awards Rules recognizing the achievements, accomplishments, and exemplary service of Association members.

Benefits Committee
To provide and maintain a fund to offer relief and support to fire fighters who are memebrs of the Association and their families in time of need in accordance with the Association rules.

By-Law Committee
To accept, study, and recommend proposed changes or ammendments to the Association's Constitution and By-Laws.

Budget & Finance Committee
To study the annual financial needs of the Association and to prepare an annual budget that will meet the Association's financial requirements.

Cadet Academy
To organize, sponsor, and manage the summer fire cadet academy.

Chaplain
To provide for the spiritual needs of the Association and fire departments as requested.  To organize and maintain a chaplains core for the fire service of the state and to manage a L.A.S.T. program for the Association.

Coalition of Fire & Rescue Services
To represent the Association at the Coalition of Fire and Rescue Services.

Conference Committee
To co-sponsor and manage an annual state conference and to work with the host to organize the conference and act as the Association's representative on the host committee.

E-911 Board
To represent the Association and the fire service on the State E-911 Board.

Governmental Affairs Committee
To review and investigate issues within proposed legislation or other governmental action and report items of interest to the Association for action.

Historians
It shall be the duty of the Historians to collect, maintain, and preserve the Association history, records, and artifacts.

Homeland Security Advisory Committee
To represent the Association and the fire service on the State Homeland Security Advisory Committee, which oversees the administration of Homeland Security Grants.

Judges
To coordinate and judge the competitive parade events conducted at the Annual Conference.

George S Gibby Resource Library Committee
To maintain, in conjunction with the Vermont Automated Library System, member access to fire related resource materials in the George S Gibby Library.

Membership Coordinator
To maintain an accurate record of membership and develop and implement interest amoung fire and allied emergency services throughout the state to become members of the Association.

National Volunteer Fire Council
To serve as the Association's representative to the National Volunteer Fire Council and to coordinate NVFC functions and programs in the state.

Scholarship Committee
To manage the George S Gibby Scholarship Fund through careful investment and also to research and recommend qualified candidates to receive scholarships.
